We are a 20 person Research Group, specialising in reaction engineering, working within the Department of chemical & Process Engineering in that faculty. Our skills are focussed on modelling and visualising reacting flows. The Group has a consistently strong track record of research funding with direct support of over £2.5m being earned from industry and the UK EPSRC in the last four years funding a wide range of projects involving amongst other things supercritical fluids, ionic liquids, microchannel reactors and separations technology for the waste incineration and oil industries. Members of the Group have a strong background in separation technology in both nuclear and non nuclear contexts. The team working on the project will include a chemist with a track record of research into energy issues and high temperature processes, a chemical engineer, specialist in research into membrane distillation and a mechanical engineer whose background is in modelling reacting flows.
